Type String

The String type can be described as a series of characters used to create something that might also be called a label.

For example, you would probably use type String to describe your name.

You might also use it to describe your telephone number.

If you were to describe your telephone number as type String:

• You would not be able to do arithmetic with it -
• Even if it consisted solely of the characters ranging from 0 through 9 inclusive.

You can only do arithmetic with values of type Number.
